An introduction to photography that explores the many aspects of photography mainly the digital tool. Students spend the semester developing an understanding of photography as a means of communication and their visual vocabulary. Students explore using the digital camera with the adobe suite, the wet darkroom using a pinhole camera and alternative processes.

Fall 10 Instructor of Art, Art Appreciation This is a class designed for non art majors that introduces them to a wide variety of work in the visual arts. My intent in this class is to expose students to the exciting things about the arts. Students will learn about the context in which famous works from art history were made in to better understand their significance.

An introduction to photography using the conventional Black and White darkroom and 35mm SLR camera. Students learn basic technical skills in photography along with visual literacy and develop concepts that they pursue in their imagery.

Students in this course are introduced to advanced studio methods in lighting and digital
photography. The course is designed in a workshop style of introducing new studio methods and
challenging students to incorporate these methods in their conceptual bodies of work.
Instructor of Art, Advanced Studio Studies
This is a course for the photography student who has completed the normal sequence in the
photography concentration. It is designed to promote the student’s conceptual approach to creating a body of work and the importance of research as an essential part of the creative process. Students critique new work weekly and develop a strong portfolio that will lead into their final semesters.
Although the class is mostly meets to critique their conceptual growth, advanced technical workshops are provided as needed
